An Epic Year for GameFounders

2015 was a year of change and joy for GameFounders. It involved opening our hub in Asia, becoming the world’s first global game accelerator and winning not one, but two awards! Let’s take a look at the highlights:

March GameFounders signs a co-operation agreement with Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to open a game accelerator in Malaysia and support the development of the local industry. The faith of MDeC in the game industry is what started this exciting journey for us.

May GameFounders tours Southeast Asia with the Big Asia Tour and meets the game communities in Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand.

September the first game accelerator in Asia welcomes 10 teams in Kuala Lumpur making GameFounders the 1st accelerator with hubs around the globe. The teams in the first cohort came from Malaysia, Brazil, Vietnam, Ukraine, Indonesia and the Philippines.

October and November GameFounders was chosen as one of the best Entrepreneurship Promoters by the Republic of Estonia. A few weeks later we also enjoyed success at the European Entrepreneurship Promotion Awards 2015 by winning the Supporting Internationalisation of Business category.

November: GameFounders teams demo at the biggest Nordic startup conference Slush and one of the studios – IMGNATION Studios – is chosen to pitch at Slush TOP100 pitching competition.

December: GameFounders portfolio studio Tiny Lab Productions from Lithuania who have worked hard for the last years in mobile game development receive Top Developer title from Google.

As the year 2015 draws to an end we are still keeping busy and going through applications from all over the world for our Spring program at GameFounders Asia. It is exciting to see how many interesting game studios are out there and we cannot wait to accelerate your success!
